Plagiarist In Chief

When Preznit Purple Finger utters these words in his State of the Union speech tonight:

"Our third responsibility to future generations is to leave them an America that is safe from danger, and protected by peace. We will pass along to our children all the freedoms we enjoy - and chief among them is freedom from fear."

...be advised that they were lifted directly from Franklin Delano Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union speech. Isn't it a bit ironic -- or perhaps just disgusting -- that the man who is intent on destroying the best and most lasting program of the New Deal, Social Security, is plagiarizing a speech given by the president who created that program in the first place? That speech was the inspiration for Norman Rockwell's series of paintings known as The Four Freedoms. For Chimpy to associate himself with perhaps the greatest president of the 20th Century is just sad. To coopt his words is criminal.

We have nothing to fear but Bush himself.
